Did you ever see a caveman wearing glasses? How about the Roman gladiators or the western cowboys? They didn’t wear glasses either. Do you know why? Because they didn’t have myopia. They would not have survived if they had myopia. Why didn’t they have to find out how to cure myopia and why do we have shortsightedness? The answer is in this article.
We have unnatural and incorrect diets. Prehistoric people didn’t have supermarkets or McDonalds; they had to live off from the land. None of our ancestors had supermarkets and fast food restaurants. They grew their own vegetables, baked their own bread and killed their own meat. We’re not really adapted to doing all that today, but we could still eat a natural diet.
The idea of a caveman having a TV or a computer is ridiculous. Our ancestors didn’t lounge around watching TV sitcoms or playing computer games. They had to work and work hard. They didn’t call it exercise, but it was.
Wearing glasses became a sign of intelligence because it was thought that reading too much caused myopia. The population with no formal education didn’t read books and the myopia rate was lower. Myopia is a worldwide condition and glasses don’t quite cure myopia.
The group of people with formal educations and the group without it ate two different diets. The formal education group could afford to eat more processed foods and the other group ate the food they grew and hunted and the myopia rate was lower.
